The NFL is known for its unpredictability and the potential for players to make unexpected comebacks. The latest player to express interest in coming out of retirement is former Pro Bowl wide receiver, Brandon Marshall. Marshall made headlines recently when he declared on the I Am Athlete podcast that he would be willing to come out of retirement and play tight end for the New York Jets if allowed to play alongside quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“Here’s why I’ll be ready if I get the call to come back as a New York Jets tight end. We’re gonna win the Super Bowl, I’m going to be able to contribute at a high level. And this is what I’m gonna give you: 45 catches, 20-30 plays a game, and eight touchdowns scored,” Marshall said.

His declaration may have come as a surprise to some fans, as the former Jets player has been out of the league for several years and is now 39 years old. However, Marshall seems confident in his abilities, predicting that he would contribute 45 catches, 20-30 plays per game, and eight touchdowns if he were to join the Jets.
The chances of Marshall playing with Aaron Rodgers are slim
Marshall’s previous stint with the Jets was a successful one, as he broke numerous franchise records in 2015 and led the league in touchdowns that season. However, the team struggled in subsequent years, and Marshall was eventually released in 2017.
Returning to the NFL to play with Rodgers and the Jets would undoubtedly be an exciting opportunity for Marshall. The chance to finally make it to the playoffs and win a Super Bowl is a compelling reason for any player to come out of retirement.
It would be exciting to see him with Aaron Rodgers on the field. But the question remains: will the Jets give Marshall a chance?
