Ex-Patriots RB Damien Harris agreed one-year deal with Bills upsetting NFL fans

Former New England Patriots RB Damien Harris has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, much to the dismay of NFL fans.

Harris was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the NFL Draft in 2019. The veteran running back amassed 2,094 yards, and 20 touchdowns in his four seasons with the team. The 26-year-old started his career incredibly, albeit he had to struggle with hamstring and thigh injuries leading him to appear in only 10 games in 2020, and 11 games in 2022.

Harris broke out in 2021 by setting records for 929 rushing yards, and 15 touchdowns, paving the way for the Patriots to the Playoffs.

Damien Harris headed for the Bills leaving the Patriots

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Buffalo Bills reached an agreement with ex-patriots running back Damien Harris on an unclosed one-year deal.

Harris also celebrated the contract with an instant tweet.

So far, Harris’ Patriots supporters appeared dissatisfied with the deal. NBA Twitter users are inundated with conflicting emotions.

A person expressed regret for not being able to support Harris since he is now on the opposition side, however, wished good success for the champion, remarking that Harris must be triggered by the Patriots team as they couldn’t value him appropriately.

A fan hurt by the news jokingly remarked that it wouldn’t affect him if he couldn’t read the tweet or news.

An admirer was saddened to see him going up against the division opponents, yet she did wish him luck.

A satirical tweet from a fan indicated that the Bills opted to replace Singletary with Harrison since Harrison was frequently exposing them.

However, many fans praised the Bills for making the good move and welcomed Harrison to his new destination.

Harris will join a talented group of running backs in Buffalo, replacing Devin Singletary as he signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texas. It remains to be seen whether Harris will fit into the Bills’ offensive system, yet many are optimistic about his potential impact on the team. As for the Patriots, they will now have to depend on the new starting running back James Robinson.

While some Patriots fans may be disappointed to see Harris go to a division rival, others are wishing him the best of luck in his new home. It remains to be seen how Harris will perform in Buffalo, but one thing is for sure: the rivalry between the Patriots and Bills just got a little more intense.
