Just like four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, the football prodigy Derek Carr had been sighing a breath of relief in his new home, the New Orleans Saints, as he shared the excitement about the positive changes he has experienced since joining the team.
After getting drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2014, Carr spent nine seasons with the franchise before getting shoved out the door and later reached terms with the Saints to a four-year, $150 million contract back in March.

“Derek Carr:”Being in this building has rejuvenated me. It’s been a breath of fresh air”, the tweet wrote.
The 32-year-old recorded 65 percent of his passes for 35,222 yards, 217 touchdowns, and 99 interceptions in 142 games throughout his tenure in Las Vegas as well as threw for 3,522 yards and 24 touchdowns against 14 interceptions in 15 games in his last season with the team.
Carr is overcoming the Raiders’ trauma and gearing up for a big year in New Orleans
The ex-Raiders led his team to climb to the top of the AFC West, albeit, they only inked the winning title in two seasons (2016, 2021), leading him to get released from his first home in the NFL.
The Saints were constantly seeking stability at the quarterback spot since legendary player Drew Brees bid adieu to the franchise, however, Derek can become the missing piece to the puzzle by proving his worth on the field to fill up the void left by the future Hall of Famer.
Drew himself had high praises for the QB while sharing his words with the Advocate.
“I think he caught the brunt of that unfairly, and I think you shoulder a lot of that burden as the quarterback anyway. I think highly of him as a person. He’s shown the ability to execute complicated offenses where a lot is put on the quarterback position to be able to make checks and make reads very quickly. He’s proven that.”
