Following in the footsteps of his former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, veteran Spanish defender Sergio Ramos is set to make his way to the Saudi Pro League as a free agent this summer.
There has been transfer activity among Saudi Arabian clubs in recent weeks. While Al Hilal attempted to sign Lionel Messi before the Argentine opted to sign with Inter Miami, Al-Ittihad has already signed Karim Benzema and is on the verge of signing N’Golo Kante.
Is Sergio Ramos leaving PSG?
Last week, the 37-year-old announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain after having spent two years in the French capital.
Ramos took to social media to confirm his departure from Paris. “Tomorrow is a special day, tomorrow I will say goodbye to another stage of my life, goodbye to @PSG_inside,” he posted on social media. “I don’t know how many places one can feel at home, but without a doubt, PSG, the fans, and Paris were one of them for me.”

It was unclear where his next destination would be. However, Saudi club Al-Ahli has offered the 2010 World Cup winner an enticing deal that might tempt him to move to the Middle East.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli’s lucrative offer
According to reports, Al-Ahli is preparing a solid deal worth $20 million per year for Ramos. The Saudi club is interested in signing the free agent, but the salary offered is significantly lower than what his former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are making at Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad.

Al-Nassr had reportedly been after Ramos in an effort to reunite him with five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, but those efforts appeared to have failed.
Sergio Ramos has yet to respond to Al-Ahli’s offer. The 37-year-old has already retired from international soccer, and might be looking to finish his career in a less challenging league as his decorated career approaches its dawn.
