Ex-Warriors’ star slapped with multiple charges, including assault by strangulation and second-degree kidnapping

This season, the NBA seems a dark place to be in, with multiple players, including Ja Morant and Anthony Morrow, getting accused of crimes. While Morant has flashed a gun on IG at a strip club following his previous firearm-related incidents, Anthony has been accused of multiple charges!

The Ex-Warrior’s star Morrow has been charged with assault by strangulation, second-degree kidnapping, and threatening the victims after being accused of these allegations. The star player was detained in February for strangling and punching a female in Charlotte.

Morrow, 37, was kept in Mecklenburg County jail for two days after assaulting the lady and was later released on a $15,000 bail.

Why was Anthony Morrow arrested?

According to court documents publicly released by the Charlotte-based WSOC-TV, Morrow repeatedly struck the woman before squeezing her neck and strangling her. The woman allegedly suffered from cuts to her lip, scrapes on the right side of her neck, and forehead abrasions.

While people began to wonder why Morrow would do something like this with an unidentified woman, one of the woman’s friends revealed that the victim and the ex-star warriors were dating at the time. It is still unclear, though, what compelled Morrow to commit this act.

According to Hunter Sáenz, Morrow’sattorney claimed that it was a baseless accusation and stated that he always has full faith in the country’s justice system and was confident enough that Morrow would be free of charges very soon.

This ex-warrior’s star player got the title of North Carolina’s “Mr. Baseball” while he used to play for Charlotte Latin High School and continued playing for the team for four years before he went undrafted. This veteran star continued to play college ball at Georgia Tech and later joined the Golden State Warriors in 2008 and later signed a professional contract with them.

This former shooting guard spent seven years in the NBA and he made his last appearance when he was playing for the Chicago Bulls in 2017. After concluding his career, Morrow went back to his hometown and formed a charity after his name.

The case will undoubtedly continue to develop in the coming days and weeks, and more information will be released as the investigation continues. Now, it remains to be seen how the player will respond to the charges against him.
