Falcons rookie RB Bijan Robinson makes bold prediction on upcoming NFL season after donning Michael Vick's legendary number 7 jersey

As the jersey exchange period in NFL is getting along, some NFL rookie players who have stepped into the magical sporting world recently, have also found their name in the jersey number they never imagined, and Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson falls in this category.

Ahead of the regular season, the 21-year-old has attained an extra energy boost following his opportunity to wear the jersey number his team’s two legendary players once garnished with their supremacy on the field.

How does Bijan Robinson feel wearing Michael Vicks’ number 7 jersey?

The no. 7 is a symbol of the completion of a promise which is mentioned over 700 times in the bible, however, the number is also special for the Falcons as their legendary player Michael Vick once used to wear the number for the team holding the NFL quarterback records for the most career rushing yards (6,109) and the most single-season rushing yards (1,039 in 2006) by a quarterback.

Additionally, the team’s Pro Bowl kicker Younghoe Koo appeared on the field wearing the number for the past four seasons before their former quarterback. So, the opportunity of donning the number of such a magnificent player is unquestionably a blessing for Robinson ahead of the season and the player is super excited for the privilege.

On an appearance on Tyreek Hills podcast, the running back revealed as the team’s head coach reached out to the former Falcons player and expressed the team’s desire to let the rookie player adorn his jersey, Vick granted it with happiness.

“So (head) Coach (Arthur) Smith asked Michael Vick if I could wear the number. And he (Vick) said yeah, like he was very excited for me to be in the number. I asked (Falcons kicker) Younghoe Koo (who had been wearing the number since 2019), and he was super cool with it off the bat,” the rookie player cited.

Throughout his career, Vick embellished the number with a tremendous journey for the Falcons, however, the number also carries a different significance biblically and it left no doubt in Robinson’s mind to acquire the number.

“Seven would actually be pretty dope to be another playmaker on the offense and a playmaker when I wear that number since him. And for me, I looked at it in a different way, obviously, like my faith, so I looked at it biblically, and the number of completion. So that’s why I like number seven a lot, like ‘That’s the number Atlanta loves to wear,” Bijan added.

What does Bijan Robinson plan to achieve in the next NFL season?

As the Texas player embraces the iconic No. 7 jersey, the whole Falcons’ squad now fixates their eyes with hope on him and the veteran star has taken the responsibility on his shoulder with an aim to present himself as the best choice for the teams’ offense.

“So my goals for myself, obviously just like getting the playbook down to a T. Still just working on it, still just trying to perfect it and everything that I need to know – how I can affect the offense, how I can affect the team, he said.

In his interview, the rookie player seemed determined and focused on attaining the shared goal while winning the Super Bowl title was his main center of attraction, keeping some personal accolades alongside.

“I think the team goal, obviously, you want to win the Super Bowl – to be a part of that, that’s like, the biggest thing. And then I think that if I have the foundation set, that’s when you’re in talks of what you want to become – Rookie of the Year, (Offensive Player of the Year)…” he added.

The Falcons regard the wide receiver as a promising one, hence gifting him with the No. 7 Jersey also throwing much pressure on him to sustain the legacy of the number. Now, time will reveal if the rookie player can sustain the legacy of the jersey number.
