The UFC is returning to Canada after four long years and consequently, they have lined up exciting matchups that is expected to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. Charles Oliveira will be making his highly anticipated return inside the octagon this weekend as he takes on Beneil Dariush in the co-main event of UFC 289.
This three-round lightweight clash will begin with its proceedings on June 10th at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. However, right before the fight, ‘Do Bronx’ has pulled a move that has understandably upset many of his fans.
Charles Oliveira gets a plug from the mature content platform Only Fans
As we inch closer to the UFC 289 PPV, pretty much all the fighters are promoting the PPV and their brands on their respective social media pages. Charles Oliveira who will be competing in the co-main event against Beneil Dariush has come under fire yesterday as he announced on Instagram that he is collaborating with Only Fans.
The former UFC lightweight champion revealed in the announcement video that he will be posting behind-the-scenes content of his training footage on his Only Fans account. He is not the first fighter to have joined Only Fans as there are many others like Paige Vanzant, Hannah Goldy, Rachael Ostovich, and Jeff Molina.
The above-mentioned fighters have earned a lot of money from the mature content platform. However, Oliveira’s idea of using the platform is very different that what others are doing. He wants up-and-coming fighters to learn from his videos and utilize these lessons in their fights.
Livid fans are far from pleased as Charles Oliveira claims to be God’s man
For many, making an only fans account might be considered normal, but ardent fans have criticized Charles Oliveira as they hold Do Bronx on a higher pedestal for his belief in God. The former UFC champion is Christian and subsequently, he is a strong believer in God.
Oliveira has often spoken about how he’s ‘Illuminated by God and is the chosen one.’ Do Bronx has never failed to thank God and seems to give his religion the number one priority. This is probably why the Brazilian lightweight had to face a lot of wrath from fight fans on social media.
Here are some comments from fans on his recent Instagram video. One user commented “WTF. I’m out dude. Unfollow.”
Meanwhile, another commenter named Garrett slammed Oliveira for abandoning his religious beliefs. “This guy claims to love Jesus but he’s doing an endorsement for Only Fans.”
“Love the guy but he’s a good for nothing sinner just like everyone else.” Jonathan Lewis who is a personal coach commented “Thought you were a man of God.”
Only fans is notorious for its adult content and promotion of degeneracy. Charles should really consider his endorsements better going forward.
