The NFL announced a record $255.4 million salary cap per team for 2024, marking the biggest year-over-year jump since 1994. Under this new cap, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott tops the list with an average salary of $60 million per year. But after his performance against the 49ers, many Cowboys fans are left frustrated, wondering if he’s really worth it.
Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback, signed a big $240 million deal, but his recent play has struggled. He threw two important interceptions, completing 25 of 38 passes for 243 yards, which contributed to the Cowboys’ 3-4 record and second loss in a row. Fans were furious because the last-second errors took away any chance of a comeback.
On the flip side, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy outplayed him with 260 passing yards and a rushing score. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones called the loss “very concerning” and “humbling,” which echoed what fans were saying.
Dak Prescott criticized by NFL fans
After losing to the Lions, the Cowboys had a chance to do better. Instead, they lost again, and fans blamed 31-year-old Dak Prescott for the defeat.
@DaveyRobicheaux said the Cowboys need to think about him seriously.
@MrSoprano21 pointed out that many people wanted Prescott to get a big contract, but he hasn’t played well.
@kyriemavs simply said, “Dak sucks.” @ChrisJ_Vet called Prescott’s contract one of the worst deals for the Cowboys after just seven games this season.
@Tony_Catalina, who used to defend Prescott, said it’s not okay for him to have three games with multiple interceptions and eight in seven games.
