With the October trade deadline ahead, the New York Giants have decided to part ways with Cole Beasley. The trade deadline is October 31 and many teams will be trying to make the best roster decisions before that. The Giants did the same by releasing the veteran wide receiver.
Cole Beasley’s release from the Giants garnered significant interest from multiple NFL teams. Although it came as a shock to many fans, they couldn’t help but speculate about what would be the next best landing spot for Beasley.
Giants part ways with Beasley
Cole Beasley, a veteran wide receiver for the Giants, requested the team release him. Without any problems, both parties decided to mutually part ways and the team released the WR from their practice squad.
Beasley joined the Giants before training camp and he was expected to make the 53-man roster. But unfortunately, he suffered a quad injury, which prevented him from playing.
Later, the wide receiver was re-signed to the practice squad but was still placed on injured reserve. Now, the wide receiver has fully recovered and everyone expected him to play with the team but he decided to part ways with the Giants.
Now that he is a free agent, many NFL teams are willing to sign him. Beasley has been an exceptional player. He began his NFL career as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2012. He spent seven seasons with the Cowboys before joining the Buffalo Bills in 2019 and spending three seasons there.
Last season, he played for both the Bucs and the Bills. Over his career, the WR has impressive statistics, including 556 receptions, 5,744 receiving yards, and 34 touchdowns. He will be a great addition to any team he joins.
Fans speculate on potential drop zone for the WR
Cole Beasley is a free agent now, and many NFL teams want to add him to their rosters. Analysts and insiders expected a high level of interest in Beasley as he was returning to full health and seeking to contribute to a Super Bowl-contending team.
Beasley is notable for being an unvaccinated player, which added to the attention surrounding his release. But he has expressed his desire to join only a Super Bowl contender.
Fans have speculated on where Cole Beasley might end up. Some fans want him to join the Vikings. They have mentioned the possibility of him pairing up with quarterback Kirk Cousins, under the leadership of coaches Urban Meyer and Jack Del Rio.
“Good god can you imagine pairing him up with Kirk Cousins, Urban Meyer as HC, and Jack Del Rio as DC?”
There are some fans who want the WR to join the San Francisco 49ers.
There’s also speculation about Beasley potentially joining the New York Jets to work with quarterback Zach Wilson or being on the same team as Aaron Rodgers.
“I think If the Jets want to salvage their season with Zach Wilson, they’ll call immediately Pro America, Anti Vaccine, Alpha Male superstar Cole Beasley and he can be on the same team as Pro America, Anti Vaccine, Alpha Male superstar Aaron Rodgers! Rodgers can guide Beasley!”
Aaron Rodgers is unable to play this season and Zach Wilson is not a very good replacement for Rodgers. Therefore, at least the addition of another great WR, Beasley, can be very beneficial for the Jets.
But as of the report, there was no imminent deal, despite contract offers from other clubs. Cole Beasley is still a free agent. Let’s wait and watch what Beasley’s final decision will be and which team will be lucky enough to get the talented wide receiver on their roster.
