Shawn Spears’ announces AEW exit
The Chairman, Shawn Spears, has been a part of AEW for 5 years. The superstar is also a former WWE wrestler who never got any groundbreaking opportunities during his time with the company. The superstar got his career breakthrough when he joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019 and the rest is history.
In a recent post on Twitter, Shawn shared the news of him exiting AEW for good. The post described Shawn as leaving the company and not being terminated by AEW. He shared how grateful he is for the opportunities he received and the love fans showered on him during his time with the company.
The caption read, “What a wonderful time it has been. Thank you AEW for allowing me to be there from the ground level. It’s been a fantastic 5 years of growth and personal development. This is a personal choice and one that is best for me and my family at this time. Thank you to all, staff and talent alike for the memories.”
He continued by saying “Most importantly, to the incredible fans of ALL professional wrestling: I love you guys. I really do.”
The Chairman’s last match was at AEW All Out Zero Hour and was last seen on the May 2022 episode of Dynamite. Since the October 13 episode of Rampage, the superstar has been absent for a time. Per reports, it was due to him welcoming his first child with wife Cassie Lee.
