Following a $186 million contract extension with the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo honors Lakers LeBron James with the No. 1 spot on NBA GOAT list

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the top players in today’s NBA. He is an absolute monster on the court and makes the crowd go wild with his amazing plays. He is strong, muscular and tall and does wonders with the ball.

One of the most decorated players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo won consecutive NBA Most Valuable Player Awards in 2019 and 2020, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LeBron James as the only players in NBA history to win two MVPs before turning 26. Giannis Antetokounmpo has a lot of respect for LeBron James and always speaks very highly of him.

Giannis Antetokounmpo labels LeBron James as NBA goat

Giannis Antetokounmpo recently revealed that he considers LeBron James to be the Goat of the NBA, placing him over Michael Jordan. The GOAT debate between Jordan and LeBron has been going on for years with NBA fans and players having different opinions. Most of the youngsters who have never even seen Jordan play consider LeBron to be the GOAT while most of the people who have watched both Jordan and LeBron play, consider MJ to be the GOAT.

For Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron is the GOAT. “Some guys might say he is No. 2, but other guys like me, I say he is No. 1, and he’s still going,” Antetokounmpo said about King James, per Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

“He’s kind of like setting the blueprint for the rest of us to go forward. That’s what I want,” Giannis added.

“I want to be able to do what I do on the court consistently, be good, be healthy, be available for my team, be able to, you know, raise my family in a bubble away from what I do on the court for them to have a normal life as much as I can. Stay out of trouble.”

LeBron although criticized by many for being a self-proclaimed GOAT, has performed well consistently throughout his career. Even now he continues to dazzle and impress fans, reporters, analysts and the entire NBA community.

Last season, LeBron James averaged 28.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists for the Los Angeles Lakers. He also surpassed the Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and became the all-time leading scorer.
