Following dominant win at UFC Paris Ciryl Gane sets up potential bout with Ton Aspinall

Ciryl Gane, who faced a brutal defeat against Jon Jones previously, got back on the winning track tonight at this week’s UFC Fight Night. “Bon Gamin” emerged victorious by defeating Serghei Spivac via a technical knockout within 3 minutes and 44 seconds of the third round.

However, the fight wasn’t easy for “Bon Gamin” as he admitted during the post-fight press conference that he felt pressure in the fight. Nonetheless, Gane responded positively once again, in the same arena where he previously defeated Tuivasa. The 33-year-old French fighter dominated Moldova’s Serghei Spivac for the best part of two rounds, outstriking the grappler and employing impressive bodywork in particular.

British UFC star Tom Aspinall attended the UFC Paris to watch the headliner clash where he also expressed his desire to fight against the winner of Gane vs Spivac. “They are the two options, I don’t have to look too far or worry about a million different people. I can fight the winner, or I fight Pavlovich.” Aspinall said.

After defeating Sergehi Spivac, Bon Gamin also shared his thoughts on Tom Aspinall’s wish. “My mission, whoever it is, is to go forward and get the belt, I failed at getting the belt but that’s what I’m going to do going forward.” said Ciryl Gane in the post fight interview.

Ciryl Gane secures crucial win at UFC Paris

Gane defeated Spivak in style on September 2 at the Accor Arena in Paris, France. In the first round, Gane was constantly on the move, dancing around Spivac. The former UFC interim heavyweight champion also landed effective leg kicks and jabs, although there wasn’t too much power behind them.

In the second round, Spivac made some attempts to get a hold of Gane but failed. Gane landed more leg kicks and jabs while moving side to side, and Spivac felt all the damage, especially to the body.

The beating by Ciryl continued until Spivak was found covering himself by the fence, and the referee called it quits. The win over Serghei Spivac was very crucial for Bon Gamin as it paves the path for Gane to the heavyweight title fight.
