The latest edition of Monday Night Raw had seen significant growth for the build of SummerSlam 2023. The show consists of some high-profile action which includes some championship matches. However, on the show, The Ring General again showcased his dominance.
Gunther is currently your Intercontinental Champion on the Red brand. Along with Kudwig Kaiser and Govaani Vince, the Ring General had decimated everybody on the Raw Roster. However, in his match against Matt Riddle, the Champion proved that he alone is an unstoppable force in the company.
Gunther manhandles Matt Riddle on WWE RAW
Gunther had competed against Matt Riddle on the recent edition of Raw with a stipulation that both the members of the Imperium were banned from ringside. The Original Bro had shown his talent and athleticism, however, he fell short, and ultimately the match was won by the Imperium Leader. The chops of the Ring General were also considered a “gunshot” by many fans.
However, this is not the first time when Gunther had showed his dominance. His capturing the Intercontinental Championship, the Ring General had shown everyone what real wrestling looks like. He usually mentioned himself as a Professional Wrestler rather than a Sports Entertainer. This word was earlier considered as a ban in the Stamford Based Promotion, however, since Triple H becomes the Chief Content Officer these banned words were considered unbanned in the company.
Gunther issues stern warning to Drew McIntyre
After securing a dominating victory over Riddle, Gunther went ringside and stood on the top of the announcer’s desk. Gunther had issued a warning to the Scottish Warrior Drew Mcintyre, as Mcintyre is currently engaging with the Ring General on various occasions.
For those unaware, Drew Mcintyre had made his return at Money in the Bank 2023, where he confronted Gunther and attacked him with a Claymore Kick. After this, he grabs the Intercontinental Championship in his hands which clears his intention behind the attack.
From the past few editions of Monday Night Raw, he stands toe to toe against the Champion. Mcintyre missed this week’s Monday Night Raw due to some Hollywood commitments. He will make his return on the upcoming edition of the Red brand. This warning also seemingly confirms their upcoming Championship bout, where Gunther will defend against Mcintyre.
This match is considered a dream match for many. The Imperium Leader had pinned the Scottish Warrior at WrestleMania 39 to retain his Championship in a Triple Threat match. It will be interesting to see whether Mcintyre could dethrone him to get that title.
