Dinamo Zagreb President vows to sign Modric after Madrid stint
The Ballon d’Or winner used to play for the Croatian club, Dinamo Zagreb before he made a move to Europe and impressed everyone. Club President Vlatka Peras is keen on bringing him back to where it all started.
“It would make sense for him to return to Dinamo at the end of his career, why not? Dinamo will certainly do everything in its power to make it happen. Now whether that will be enough, we will see,” he said in an interview.
Though Peras is ready to do everything in his power to bring the Croatian back to his former club, offers from the Middle East might lure him away. The Saudi Pro League’s clubs’ interest in Luca was clear in the 2023 transfer market. Some clubs not only offered him a position in the team but also promised to make him manager once his contract expired.
When did Luka Modric play for Dinamo Zagreb?
Luka Modric played for Dinamo Zagreb for five years before he made a move to Europe and joined the Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur. He was a member of the club from 2003 to 2008. During this time, he made 130 appearances and scored 32 goals.
Luka Modric won two League titles with Dinamo Zagreb and was also presented with the Prva HNL Player of the Year award for his performance in the 2006-07 season. He was later assigned the captaincy of the squad, and the team managed to qualify for the UEFA Cup under him.
