Former NBA Prospect Janis Timma Dies After Falling from Moscow Apartment

Janis Timma, a talented Latvian basketball player, played for top teams in Latvia like ASK Riga, DSN Riga, and Ventspils. He even won the Baltic Basketball League Championship in 2013. Sadly, the basketball world is now mourning his loss after he reportedly fell from a high-rise apartment building in Moscow.

The 32-year-old was found dead at the entrance of a residential building on Monday. The incident happened on the birthday of his ex-wife, Ukrainian singer and actress Anna Sedokova, raising questions about their relationship.

Timma and Sedokova married on September 6, 2020, but the relationship was rocky. Sedokova filed for divorce this fall, and they officially separated in September, though they were reportedly still in touch.

Russian authorities are investigating Timma’s death, suspecting it may be suicide. According to reports, they found a phone near his body with a message from Sedokova requesting a callback. It’s unclear if they spoke before his passing.
