The Los Angeles Lakers have dominated the Memphis Grizzlies in their first two games of the NBA playoffs, thanks in large part to their star player, LeBron James. However, Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks is not intimidated by James and has made it clear that he does not respect him. This has prompted former James teammate Kendrick Perkins to issue a warning to Brooks, stating that he has “poured honey on himself” and that James is coming for him.
"That bear is coming, that bear is LeBron James. … He didn't poke the bear, he poured honey on himself."

Perkins, who played alongside James on the Cleveland Cavaliers, believes that Brooks has made a mistake by disrespecting the four-time MVP. He stated that James is from Akron, Ohio, and has a lot of pride, and that he has been settling for jump shots in the first two games. Perkins also pointed out that James has only gone to the free-throw line eight times in two games, and that this is likely to change in the upcoming game.
“He didn’t poke the bear,” Perkins said. “He poured honey on himself. That’s what Dillon Brooks did. He poured honey on himself. ‘Cause that bear’s coming. That bear’s LeBron James.
This is entertaining… I hope LBJ comes to play ball Saturday

“LeBron James is from Akron, Ohio, OK? LeBron James is from the mud. LeBron James got pride, and he better believe he didn’t poke the bear, he poured honey on himself. The bear’s coming. Saturday, LeBron James is on his way.”I have been watching LeBron in these past two games that has been settling for jumpshots, a total of 16 3-point shot attempts, and he only got to the line eight times in two games. That’s gonna change of Saturday. Dillon Brooks better be ready. I appreciate him going there. I appreciate the competitive nature, but that’s not the bear you want to poke.”
This will either age like fine wine or like milk on his legacy

Despite Brooks’ trash talk, James has remained focused and determined to help his team win. In Game 2, James put up impressive numbers, scoring 28 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and dishing out three assists. However, the Grizzlies’ defense was able to slow down the Lakers and secure a 103-93 victory, evening the series at one game apiece.
As the series moves forward, it remains to be seen whether Brooks’ comments will motivate or backfire on him. However, one thing is clear: James is not someone to be taken lightly, and he will be looking to prove his dominance in the upcoming games.
The Battle of Respect: LeBron James and Dillon Brooks Set to Clash in NBA Playoffs
The Memphis Grizzlies have tied the series with the Los Angeles Lakers, but their task is not yet complete as they head to Game 3 on the road. However, the Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks may have made things more difficult for his team with his disrespectful comments towards Lakers star LeBron James. Fans believe that James could be even more dominant in the upcoming games as a result.
So far in the series, James has averaged 24.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. However, he may choose to be even more aggressive in Game 3 to prove a point to Brooks. The series is now becoming more interesting and competitive as both teams fight for a place in the next round of the playoffs.
