Former WWE creative discusses how WWE can give Roman Reigns time off following WrestleMania 40

Roman Reigns, the true reigning WWE Champion, is looking to defend his belt in the upcoming WrestleMania 40. If he manages to do that, he will likely pass on Hulk Hogan’s record as the longest-reigning champion.

But that begs another question about Roman Reigns’ future in WrestleMania. Having headlined the main event for three years now, fans wonder how long he will be involved with the brand should he lose the championship this year. Former WWE creatives have spoken about how The Tribal Chief can go forward after the conclusion of the main event. 

Former WWE writer believes Roman Reigns will get time off following WM 40

Vince Russo, the former WWE writer, recently spoke about how Roman Reigns can take a break from WWE after WrestleMania 40. According to him, the feud between The Rock and Cody Rhodes will have a major role to play in causing that to happen. 

The feud between them could intensify after their tag-team match in WrestleMania, and that will likely start a story arc diverting attention from The Tribal Chief. As Roman Reigns is sparsely seen in the weekly events now, he can take a break for some time.

However, the leader of The Bloodlines does not want to slow down just yet. ‘I’m just scratching the surface. We’re still figuring stuff out,’ he says when asked about the future. While speaking on a Mat McAfee show, he said if he achieved all the titles in just four years, he could not imagine what’s in store for him in the future. 

While referring to his long-standing championship streak, he says, ‘I don’t see it stopping anytime’. He wants to rewrite history in the WWE in the coming years and chase all the landmarks in his path.

Meanwhile, WWE legend Mark Henry feels The Rock’s involvement in the current storyline has taken some thunder away from the stars Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes. He even goes on to say that The Rock has made them feel like side chicks.

He referred to The Brahma Bull as a ‘polarizing figure’ due to his work in Hollywood, which has made him a global star. He also said others may need to learn how to become stars, but The Rock has already done it.

The Rock has taken a heel turn in his persona since his arrival, with Cody Rhodes taking most of the heat. Both have gone back and forth at each other, with profanity-filled rants being the highlight of the feud. Which makes their face-off in the upcoming WrestleMania nothing short of a spectacle.
