Francis Ngannou accepts Tyson Fury’s offer to box inside cage with Mike Tyson as referee, want to fight Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua

Fans knew something big was about to come when Francis Ngannou refused an offer from the UFC that would have made him the highest-paid heavyweight of all time. The wait didn’t go on for too long with hints at Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury dropping from the main man himself.

Francis became notorious inside the UFC for knocking out opponents with his vicious power. Powerful fighters like Curtis Blaydes, Allistair Overeem, Cain Velasquez, and Junior Dos Santos all found out about the African prodigy’s power the hard way. He even pulled out a surprise wrestling performance against his former training partner Cyril Gane.

‘The Predator’ was unhappy with his contracts for a long while but waited till he had a solid resume to raise the issues. After defeating ‘Bon Gamin’ he took a long hiatus as he recovered from his injuries and brought forth the contract issues during this time. There was a long back and forth but no final news was coming.

At the start of 2023, Ngannou posted some new year pictures where one of his family members was wearing a PFL T-shirt. Fans went bonkers as many of them considered this a sign that the Heavyweight champion was finally moving away from UFC. Not too long after, Dana White himself came forward and confirmed the release.

How did Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury come to be?

Tyson was quick to challenge his potential rival, “Francis Ngannou, I know you’re out of contract with the UFC. Let’s do a big, big fight for the baddest MF on the planet. Let’s kick it up spicy, in a cage, four-ounce gloves, under Queensberry [boxing rules], and let’s have a bada** referee like ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. Did I just sell that to the world?”

Francis has also seemingly agreed to the match as he Tweeted.

How do you think this matchup is going to go?
