Isaiah Thomas started his remarkable career as one of the most successful late-round picks in NBA history when the Sacramento Kings selected him 60th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft.
Despite being chosen late and enduring numerous injuries, Thomas has relentlessly fought to remain in the NBA. In fact, he is still fighting to keep his dream alive for another 2-3 years.
Recently, sharing his ultimate goal, the 35-year-old said, “I really want to just play two or three more years and then focus on my kids. That’s the ultimate goal and we’re just going to keep fighting until the end…I’m still at an age where I can still play at a high level.”
In 2015–16, Isaiah Thomas was named to his first All-Star team. But it was in 2016–17 when he really shined, scoring 28.9 points and 5.9 assists per game. Unfortunately, his career was cut short by a hip injury in the playoffs that year.
Since then, Thomas has played for eight teams, managing to reach only 40 games with only one. Now, as a free agent, Thomas is determined to continue his NBA career despite knowing the road ahead will be tough.

Isaiah Thomas once shared a terrifying story on social media in which he and his friends narrowly escaped a life-threatening gun incident. Fortunately, the situation ended peacefully when the gunman recognized Thomas as a former NBA All-Star.
He tweeted, “I really had a life-changing moment yesterday where a kid pulled an AK47 on me and the homies, and if it wasn’t for who I was and him recognizing me in my own city, he probably would ended all of our lives. Be SAFE.”
