After the Boston Celtics lost 108-104 to the Orlando Magic on Monday night, Jaylen Brown shared his frustration with the referees. The game at Kia Center was tough and physical, with each half feeling very different. Brown felt the officials didn’t treat the Celtics fairly during the game.
After the game, Jaylen Brown spoke to reporters, saying, “We felt officials was one-sided. I think it was good for us. I think we need to see that more and get used to that more. Get more comfortable with that level of environment.”
Jaylen is known for sharing bold opinions and isn’t afraid to criticize when things go wrong. His past with Nike has had its issues, and he often speaks out when something affects the game negatively.
The same kind of thing happened in last night’s game with the Magic Orlando since he felt something was off with the referees. He shared his thoughts on how the officials favored the Magic, saying, “They was allowed to use their hands. The team that sets the tone often kind of gets the game called in their favor. Felt like we fouled them more than we liked.”
Even Jaylen Brown just calling out the refs and believes his whistle has been cut off lately; it's not just us fans who see it. For whatever reason, they are letting teams get physical with Boston and not allowing the same level of defense to be played. pic.twitter.com/i7G5BWcyjV

He also admitted that he got into foul trouble while trying to play physically. He said the Magic were allowed to be physical tonight, which affected the second-half game.
Jaylen Brown challenges Nike’s political stance
Jaylen Brown is still getting major attention after winning the NBA championship and MVP last season because of his controversial take on Nike. He believes his issue with Nike led to his exclusion from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
He spoke up about it during an interview on “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” where he openly criticized Nike, a company worth $121 billion. When asked about missing the 2024 Olympics, Brown made it clear he wasn’t happy with Nike’s influence on Team USA picks. He said he wouldn’t sign with Nike just to have a better chance of making the 2028 Olympics.
He added, “If signing with Nike is what it takes for me to improve my odds of representing USA basketball in 2028, then I’ll happily decline that offer.”
