Pep Guardiola is furious over other PL clubs’ involvement in this delicate issue as the Spaniard issued a warning to them while taking a dig at Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard over his famous slip against Chelsea.
🗣 Pep Guardiola on Steven Gerrard's slip against Chelsea in 2014:
"I don't know [if] we are responsible for Steven Gerrard's slip in that situation at Anfield. I didn't want it out of respect for Steven Gerrard [but] is it our fault?"

“They want the position of the UCL for the big amount of money to pay the stadiums they built, so it’s okay. The other clubs are jealous and judge us. I don’t know if we are responsible for Steven Gerrard’s famous slip too. Maybe.”
The ‘Steven Gerrard slip’ refers to a famous incident in English football history, where the former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard lost his footing while attempting to control the ball in a Premier League match against Chelsea back in 2014.

This slip led to Chelsea’s first goal in a 2-0 win over Liverpool and is widely considered to have been a significant factor in Liverpool’s failure to win the league title that season.
Clearly, Liverpool wouldn’t be happy with Pep Guardiola said this publicly but to be frank, the Spaniard too didn’t like the interventions made by the other clubs over the situation without proving anything.
According to the English journalist Martin Lipton, Man City’s PL rival as well as other clubs across the division are ‘furious’ about the Spanish Maestro’s public attack on them during Friday’s press conference ahead of the much-anticipated clash against Aston Villa.
