Oleksandr Usyk has never been closer to boxing greatness. The Ukrainian not only went on to win WBA, WBO, and IBF titles but also has the opportunity to hold the WBC title now. Should he manage to beat heavyweight legend, Tyson Fury? Now it appears that undefeated prospect Frazer Clarke wants to aid Usyk in repeating a boxing feat, last seen 20 years ago.
The 6ft 6in giant is currently going into his fifth bout unbeaten. His last recorded weight was around 271 lbs. Fury is 6 ft 9in and it is not easy to find a sparring partner who can somewhat replicate the British Champion. But Frazer is still a good candidate as he is 3 inches shorter than Tyson but 3 inches longer than Usyk. If Oleksandr wants to train with a taller and heavier opponent with Boxing power and prowess to match, Clarke should come in Handy.
The former Olympic bronze winner has got a big fight of his own coming up as he takes on the sturdy Argentinian Kevin Espindola. The fight will take place on the undercard of the Chris Eubank Jr vs Liam Smith bout on January 21st and will have a lot of fans tuning in to see if Frazer can last all scheduled 8 rounds. Clarke however, remains as confident as ever as he risks his undefeated record with only two weeks left for the match.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the British said, “Oh, I’d relish the experience and love it, 100 percent, I’d go there and love the experience. It would be fantastic for me, and if Team Usyk is reading this interview, get my number and get in touch. I’d love to go over.”
What about the Fury vs Usyk fight?
The heavyweight unification bout between Tyson and Oleksandr seems very close to being confirmed. Both camps seem eager to get the fight done and the mistakes from the Anthony Joshua fight will likely not be replicated.
