Since his arrival in 2013, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has established himself as a determined hard worker, showing perseverance through all the different challenges thrown his way.
However, the resurfacing of an old image of his from the earlier days of his career sparked controversy over his use of performance-enhancing drugs. Though several times it was proven by drug tests that he was falsely accused, a group of individuals went after him anyway with these wild conspiracies.

This comparison just proved how dedicated Giannis is to basketball and the process he went through to cope with the most challenging league in the world. The Giannis we see today wasn’t the same player when he came from Greece.
The Greek Freak’s rookie season was pretty abysmal, scoring on average 6.6 points with 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 24.6 minutes of play per game. He gradually improved his fitness and performance through his sheer brilliance and passion for the game.
How did the fans react to the transformation of Giannis Antetokounmpo?
The fans accused the 28-year-old of using steroids and other PEDs.

The 7-footer isn’t the first one to be tainted with such baseless acclamations; the Los Angeles Lakers’ GOAT, Lebron James, was also accused of taking such drugs for his unbelievable futility and longevity. A retired UFC fighter named Chael Sonnen made this hilarious statement about James using steroids as if the statement were coming from such a saint.
“We have the same drug guy; I know exactly what he’s doing. EPO matters; it’s the reason LeBron takes it; it matters,” Sonnen claimed.
The PEDs are used to provide instant stimulation and strength to perform at a peak level that an average body can’t really produce. But using such drugs only shortens the careers of users as their bodies become dependent on the chemicals. King James’ 18-year-long career certainly doesn’t look like a product of steroids or drugs.
Antetokounmpo, on the other hand, already spent 10 years in the NBA, and his performance never showed any indication of using drugs. It seems the ‘Greek Freak’ frightened some naysayers by putting on a stellar performance inside the court.
