“Give to people what people’s wants” Paulo Costa teases a Nick Diaz fight for UFC 289 in response to Strickland’s callout

The matchups in the UFC are getting out of hand at this point. Earlier, Sean Strickland decided to call out Paul Costa seemingly out of nowhere, and then Paulo went one step forward by rejecting the invitation and challenging Nick Diaz instead. While none of this is official talk, we can’t help speculating how a Nick Diaz vs Paulo Costa match would actually look.

In his callout, Sean said, “Yo, Costa, I think we should fight, bro. It f*cking makes sense, you know. I don’t know if you’ll be drunk or be able to make weight, eating cookies – let’s make this sh*t happen.”

Paulo was quick to respond, “Strickland deep, deep, deep down in his heart is a nice guy, I just think one of his many problems is because he’s been shot several times in the head and now he’s kind of living on a permanent concussion making jokes so old he couldn’t think of something updated lolall good Bro.”

Costa is currently not scheduled to fight anyone after pulling out from his fight against Robert ‘Bobby Knuckles’ Whittaker. He cited low pay as the main drawback stating he had been receiving the same pay for many of his last fights. The Brazilian has even wanted to get out of his contract and move to boxing in hopes of better pay.

One thing to keep in mind here is that Paulo is no saint as far as his responsibilities for the organization goes. He missed his weight by a huge margin during his fight against Marvin Vettori. But instead of taking responsibility, he began to mock his opponent and in the end lost the fight despite weighing in heavier.

He didn’t put on a good performance in the fight against a washed-out Luke Rockhold. It seems like Borrachinha has found a newfound interest in fighting older opponents which is why he probably called out Nick Diaz.

Who do you want to see Nick fight against?
