“Good f#cking riddance:” Fans ecstatic as Director of football Victor Orta has agreed to leave Leeds United

Leeds United have officially announced the departure of their director of football, Victor Orta, by mutual consent.

A statement of no confidence in the club’s management team was delivered by the Supporters’ Advisory Board as tensions rose at Elland Road in recent weeks as Leeds slid into a relegation battle. On Tuesday morning, the club confirmed that they would be parting ways with Orta and their manager, Javi Gracia, as well.

An official statement from Leeds United states: “Leeds United can confirm Victor Orta has left the club by mutual consent.”

The club owner Andre Radrizzani has added to the incident: “I am deeply saddened by the way that this chapter closes as Victor has been responsible for some of the best moments of my time as owner of Leeds United, and I thank him and his people for all they have done in the past six years.”

“However, it is clear that it is time to change direction, and therefore we have agreed that Victor will leave the club. I understand supporters are hurt and upset, but now is a time for unity. We have four cup finals left to play this season, and working together, I believe we can survive.”

Leeds United fans are relieved

The fans have gone on to express their relief following the news of Orta and Garcia’s departure. A lot of people reacted on social media saying “good riddance,” while others were expressing their gratitude.

Victor Orta joined the club in the summer of 2017. In 2020, the Whites were promoted to the Premier League thanks to the improvements he helped to oversee at the club. He was also in charge of bringing new members to the team’s staff and roster.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds United can avoid relegation without the help of Victor Orta and Javi Garcia. Leeds fans, given the current situation, can only hope for a miracle!
