Over the years, Tom Brady has been the NFL GOAT, and fans loved the legendary quarterback for his charismatic performance and charming attitude. However, things might have changed in a couple of days. While Brady fans will always love TB12 no matter what he says or does, others will not tolerate controversial takes from anyone, even if it is Brady.
Brady, after his retirement, has become a bit of a spokesperson and is noticed making comments on many things. Now that he has much free time, Tom speaks his heart out as people constantly ask him questions. On the other hand, Tom is also preparing himself for his new role as the sports analyst at Fox Sports, so making regular comments is understandable.
However, on Valentine’s day, Brady came out with yet another episode of his famous podcast, “Let’s Go!“. While the episode title is “Tom Brady – Breaking Down Super Bowl LVII,” the quarterback goes back in time to comment on the controversial “Nipplegate” incident involving Janet Jackson.
What did Tom Brady say about Janet Jackson?
In his podcast, Tom Brady goes back to 2004, when he played as a Patriot and tried to win yet another Super Bowl. While showing his dedication to the field, Brady made a controversial statement and said,
“We came off the field, and that was when we had the wardrobe malfunction with Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson. [Journalists] were asking me about that, and I couldn’t even understand what they were telling me about. They were like, ‘Did you see the halftime show?’ and I said, ‘Nah, I didn’t see anything.’ I was thinking about the game and was trying to figure out halftime adjustments. It took a while for us to figure out what had gone on. That’s for the fans and not for the players.”
TB12’s statement would have been fine if he had ended it there. However, he did not and continued saying, “I think in the end, it was probably a good thing for the NFL because everyone got to talk about it, and it was just more publicity and more publicity for halftime shows. Is any publicity bad publicity? That’s what they say, so, who knows?”
Fans could not believe what Brady had said and were outraged. Many fans bashed the NFL GOAT on social media platforms, including Twitter.
Janet Jackson faced public humiliation and outright misogynoir resulting in her getting blacklisted by the former CEO of CBS, but Tom Brady thinks all of that was ok because all publicity is good publicity. Sick. https://t.co/1kcerS34Wc

I don’t think he understands the amount of shit she went through after that backlash. That comment was too superficial and shallow. https://t.co/lk7XJ331GH

Now that Tom will be off the field and making comments regularly, he should consider the crowd’s sentiment and phrase his words accordingly. Nonetheless, making such a comment in his own Podcast was not a wise move from Brady.
