Gophers’ Bold Fourth-Down Play Seals 24-17 Win Against No. 11 USC

The Minnesota Golden Gophers stunned the No. 11 USC Trojans in a nail-biting matchup at Huntington Bank Stadium, clinching a 24-17 victory. The game reached its climax with a bold fourth-down gamble that Gophers fans will remember for years to come.

With 59 seconds left, the MN Gophers ended their two-game losing streak by 24-17. Credit goes to QB Max Brosmer because he scored three touchdowns in the game, but the last one was a game-making shot.

With the game tied at 17-17 and less than a minute remaining, coach P.J. Fleck decided to go for a touchdown instead of a field goal. Brosmer crossed the goal line with help from his teammates. At first, it looked like he didn’t make it, but a video review showed he did.

Brosmer had an impressive performance, completing 15 of 19 passes for 169 yards and contributing significantly on the ground. Running back Darius Taylor also shone, amassing 200 yards from scrimmage and leading the Gophers’ rushing attack.

Coach P.J. Fleck shares what the Gophers win truly means to him

In the aftermath of the Minnesota Golden Gophers’ thrilling 24-17 victory, Coach P.J. Fleck opened up about the significance of this win for him and his team.

Coach P.J. Fleck proudly told a Big Ten Network reporter, “We’re the best 2-3 team in the nation. This is for the state of Minnesota, this is for our University.”

Amidst the cheering crowd, Fleck also praised freshman Koi Perich, saying, “He’s unbelievable. He’s one of the best playmakers I’ve ever seen and he’s only 18 years old.”
