The Memphis Grizzlies Ja Morant got a two-game suspension following an inappropriate appearance on Instagram lives with a firearm while partying in a strip club.
After the Grizzlies’ loss to the table-topper Denver Nuggets on Friday, the star went to the strip club along with others. In a moment, he came live from his Instagram account and started making inappropriate gestures with a gun in his hand in an indecent surroundings.
Though the Grizzlies issued a suspension, the NBA was still investigating his act, and it seems Ja will face severe consequences.
What is going to happen to Ja Morant?
The Grizzlies went to Denver as a visiting team, and the 23-year-old was on the flight to participate in the game at the ball arena. If he were to carry the gun into the team flight, the youngster would be in gigantic trouble.
However, according to CBA, if any player fails to inform the team authority regarding owning or possessing any firearm, he will have to face the consequences as per NBA’s constitutional act.
We will see how the Ja Morant situation develops.
There are likely legal consequences because he is an out of state resident viewed in possession of a gun.

In this context, if Morant carried an impermissible and unauthorized firearm on the team flight, the NBA would file a civil offense charge against him alongside a 50-game ban.
However, if the 6.2-footer only possessed the gun in Denver and didn’t carry it during the flight, he might face only 50 game suspension, which is alone a massive setback for the athlete.
The suspension will affect his game time colossally next season, let alone the rest of this season’s fixture. It could even jeopardize the point guard’s future career.
Previously, in the 2009-10 season, the Washington Wizards point guard Gilbert Arenas faced such a lengthy suspension for carrying a gun into the team locker room.
Although, Morant had already issued an apology statement and deactivated his social media to express his remorse. Now, it’s up to the NBA whether they should issue a lengthy suspension or less to support and set an example for others.
