“Hahaha bald fraud”: Dana White’s absurd power slap claim faces brutal backlash from UFC fans

Since its inception, Dana White’s Power Slap League has been the subject of debate in the world of combat sports. Dana once again faced harsh criticism from UFC fans for a remark he made about the new sport league’s enormous success.

What did Dana White say about the success of Power Slap League?

The Power Slap League, reportedly the brainchild of the UFC president, was unveiled by White earlier this year. This league’s main idea is slap fighting, making it a new combat sports. Dana declared that the new league was a huge success during the UFC 288 post-fight news conference, despite the fact that combat sports fans never warmly welcomed it.

“The deal that I just cut for Slap is bigger than the UFC deal we cut with SpikeTV after the first season of The Ultimate Fighter. It’s unbelievable. Not only is it unbelievable money-wise, it’s been unbelievable as far as social media goes.” said Dana.

What Dana said afterwards was the reason to get such severe backlash from UFC fans. In fact while making an absurd comment, UFC president literally made fun of NBA, NFL and other sports going after him on Twitter.

“We’re number one in all of sports, and when I say all of sports, if you take the NBA, NHL, NFL, F-1, WWE, and who am I forgetting, and add them all together, their numbers don’t compare to Slap.” Dana added.

How did UFC fans react to Dana White’s claim?

Brandon Lewis questioned whether Dana was in the right state during making the comment as he said,”Dana seems off these days, at the end when he’s like, I tell you who is laughing, and points to himself. Weird haha.”

“It could be true but it doesn’t mean it’s positive sentiment. Like 80% of the comments I saw were taking the piss out of the promotion. Fold that nuance in and it could very well be a big number.” said Gin.

Another user is refusing to believe everything UFC president is saying these days as he said,” And this is why I NEVER believe PPV numbers when they come out of Dana’s mouth. He lies about everything.”

“Didn’t power slap get switched to a streaming platform no one heard of in the middle of its first season? Or was that after its first season?” Will Perez commented.

A user, appreciated some other sports instead of power slap by saying,” Kickboxing and muay thai in the octagon would make a lot more sense than slap. Real combat fans have 0 interest in slap. Yet most of your fans love it when fighters stand and bang.”

As it looks Dana triggered a WWE fan as well as he brought some statistics while making the comment saying,” Social media metrics is also a generic term. WWE has more social media interaction than all major American sports combined. But that’s not an indication of its overall popularity either.”

“Lol, if and only if they spent a shit ton to boost it and got a bunch of negative engagement. Negative engagement is not going to sell ppvs.” Andre Batista said.
