Henry Cejudo, the ex-UFC champion, has announced his comeback from retirement. With his next fight scheduled against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288. Cejudo has also stated that, in his opinion, Umar Nurmagomedov represents the most significant challenge at the 135-pound weight class among all fighters.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s impact on both the world of mixed martial arts and his home region of Dagestan is significant and enduring. His impressive achievements and unwavering dedication to his sport have inspired numerous individuals.
Umar Nurmagomedov, the younger sibling of Khabib, is carving out a notable reputation in the MMA sphere. The Dagestan native boasts an unblemished record of 16-0, having dominated each of his opponents. With three of those victories by finishes.
He is highly versatile across all aspects of the sport, and numerous members of the MMA community consider him a strong contender for future championship titles, earning him the moniker ‘Young Eagle’.
The bantamweight division of the UFC appears to be evolving into one of the most thrilling divisions in the promotion. It boasts a wealth of talented fighters, comprising a blend of promising newcomers, established veterans, and several viable challengers for the title.
Henry Cejudo hails Khabib’s cousin
According to Javier Mendez, the coach of Khabib Nurmagomedov and also the trainer of his unbeaten cousin, ‘Young Eagle’ possesses all the necessary qualities to become a future champion.
Henry said, “Umar is the most dangerous guy. At 135 pounds, out of all the cats that I see. Umar Nurmagomedov is the toughest challenge of any of them, including myself. He can wrestle, he can strike, he can box, and he’s well-rounded. He’s seen his brother [Khabib Nurmagomedov] and his cousin win world titles and he wants to be next.”
After receiving recognition from the ex-UFC champion, Nurmagomedov expressed his delight and shared his appreciation via a tweet.

The UFC intends to arrange a fight between Umar Nurmagomedov and Merab Dvalishvili soon. Nonetheless, Dvalishvili has rejected the UFC’s proposal to face Nurmagomedov’s cousin on May 13 due to injury, as reported by MMA journalist Aaron Bronsteter.
The promotion is now aiming to reschedule the match for July. Despite this setback, ‘Young Eagle’ recognizes that Merab requires time to recover, but he remains eager to challenge himself against the Georgian fighter.
