Leon came into the fight with a remarkable ten-fight winning streak, including a memorable knockout of the former champion back in UFC 278. Interestingly, his last defeat dates back to December 2015 when he was outpointed by ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ at ‘UFC on Fox 17’.
On the other hand, Kamaru Usman (20-3 MMA) stepped into the Octagon with the aim of bouncing back from his title loss to Leon Edwards in August. The loss was only his second in his career and the first since 2013.
