Dana White has been criticized by plenty of UFC aficionados, most particularly by Islam Makhachev, for not putting more effort into promoting and publicizing this massive fight, which will headline UFC 284.
The Dagestani fighter vented his dissatisfaction over the manner in which the organization promoted this blockbuster fight. According to Makhachev, the UFC authority has failed to advertise the fight on a wide scale across the world.
During a recent interview on The Jim Rome Show, the President of the UFC provided his response to Islam’s statement. What Makhachev had to say concerning the lack of promotion for the main event of UFC 284 was completely denied by Dana White.
Dana asserts that the Russian fighter has no specific knowledge of the fight promotion, and since the Russian fighter lives in Dagestan, no one living there could possibly know for certain how the promotion is being done saying, ”First of all, he lives in Dagestan. What does he know about what’s going on for the promotion of the fight? He doesn’t know anything. ”

According to Dana White, the super-fight between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski is already one of the top five biggest fights of all time, with all tickets sold out and the fight trending on social media.
”First of all, the event sold out. Right? You couldn’t get a ticket if you wanted to get a ticket in Perth. And this thing is trending right now to be the biggest pay-per-view event in Australia, which, it’s like six percent behind the Conor McGregor [vs. Dustin] Poirier 3 fight. It’s probably going to break the record”
White used his reasoning to contradict Makhachev’s claim that the fight hasn’t been marketed, arguing that Makhachev’s assertion is absurd and can be described as “internet BS.”
To make matters worse, Dana appears to have forgotten the name of Islam during a recent press conference amid the dispute between him and the lightweight champion, for which UFC fans on Twitter lambasted Dana White, questioning how he could have forgotten Islam’s name.
