In the lead-up to April 22nd, Gervonta Davis didn’t hold back in his criticism of fellow boxer Ryan Garcia. Davis, who currently holds the WBA lightweight title, made it clear that he believes Garcia is not cut out for professional boxing.
And he should instead focus on training others in the gym. According to Davis, Garcia approached him with a proposal of friendship, but Davis believes that Garcia’s recent struggles inside the ring indicate that he should steer clear of boxing altogether.
Davis has never been one to shy away from a challenge, and his tough talk towards Garcia is likely fueled by his desire to prove himself as one of the best boxers in the world.
Despite Garcia’s impressive social media following and flashy Instagram presence. Davis seems convinced that he lacks the skills and discipline to succeed in the ring.
Whether or not Garcia heeds Davis’ advice remains to be seen. But it’s clear that the young fighter has a lot of work to do if he wants to prove his doubters wrong and establish himself as a legitimate contender in the world of boxing.

Davis recommends Instagram boxing to Ryan Garcia
During a recent interview with Speedy Morman, Davis confirmed that Ryan had indeed approached him with a friendship proposal. Gervonta went on to reveal how he felt about Garcia’s proposal and what it meant to him.
Yeah. He definitely asked me that,” confirmed Davis. In his opinion, Garcia should not have the role of a boxer. “He shouldn’t be a boxer. I don’t think so. I just don’t see it for him. Boxing on Instagram [is] probably cool but [he’s] not [an] actual fighter.”
