Shaquille O’Neal always has the most reasonable perspective and is the first to speak the truth. When describing this NBA icon, the phrase “honesty is the best policy” is an apt one to use. In a recent issue, Shaquille backed a player with his logical view.
Draymond Green, a veteran of the Golden State Warriors, has been in the spotlight exactly for antithetical reasons. Green, a four-time NBA champion, was involved in a fight with a young player named Jordan Poole, which ended up with Green hitting Poole in the face.
The basketball community is in astonishment, and many are demanding severe punishment for Green’s behavior. But, NBA great Shaquille O’Neal is one of the few who has publicly backed Green.
The former Los Angeles Lakers star discussed this certain topic on the most recent edition of his podcast, The Big Podcast with Shaq. He applauded Green for confronting the media following his outburst, as well.
Shaq stated, “But guess what? He was a man about it because he talked to the traditional media.”
“But guess what? Nobody really cares, they just act like they care. He punched in the face, it happens everyday.”
Although Shaq may have a soft spot for Draymond Green, many others may not share his enthusiasm. Worldwide, Warriors’ supporters have been calling for the team to be more stringent with Green.
The former NBA superstar is well-regarded for his unique viewpoint. In the same way that he played superbly, he also thought like a genius.
