Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady Golokvin are arguably the best middleweight boxers to ever exist! The pair have a combined record of 99-3! That is unheard of in boxing and outright superhuman in terms of accomplishment! Golokvin’s only loss came at the hands of Alvarez back in 2018 in their second fight.
Canelo Alvarez has been on the war path, beating everyone and anyone he can get! But after a stumble and shock loss at light heavyweight against Dmitry Bivol, Alvarez has come back down to his own division to face his arch nemesis one more time.
The first two fights were showcases of master boxing skills and unwavering grit. The third promises to be a firecracker as well if the press conference is anything to go by. Canelo seemed very agitated at the presser and labeled Golokvin as an “a**hole who pretends to be nice”.
Canelo is probably just selling the PPV and starting a rivalry on screen, the two fighters shared 24 rounds inside the ring and have a ton of admiration for each other as seen inside the ring after their second fight. But the press conference was a heated war of words between the two veterans.
