Although the Dallas Cowboys retained their veteran player Michael Gallup, the wide receiver was unable to perform at his peak level due to an ACL tear, however, the team’s quarterback Dak Prescott has shared a bit of exciting information for Cowboys fans regarding the WRs’ injury update.
Gallup was added to the Cowboys’ roster in 2018, while Prescott is only a two-year senior, having joined the team in 2016. Nonetheless, both remain valuable assets for the Cowboys, demonstrating their loyalty to the team and athletic prowess.

As Gallups’ injury became a major source of worry for the Dallas team, their veteran quarterback of seven seasons recently addressed the injury update of the WR to ESPN on Friday. Prescott stated that the 27-year-old is overcoming the injury curse day by day and becoming physically fit to play on an NFL field.
“Just for him to get into this offseason, get his body right, and now just starting to come back into who Michael Gallup is and feel himself, I think what you just saw is a couple of plays right there of doing that consecutively,” he said.

The seventh-year pro made sure to mention Michael, a committed and diligent player, in his statement about how the wide receiver is working tirelessly every day to reclaim his spot on the roster and contribute to the winning of the team.
“But that’s a guy that I’ve got a lot of trust in. I know who he is, and more importantly, how he works and comes to work each and every day to get better. He’s getting his feet under him, and he’s going to be better,” he added.
What happened to Michael Gallup?
In the wide receiver room for the Cowboys, Gallup was a strong supporter and dominant player, however, during the opening game of 2021, he injured his left ankle. In addition, the 28-year-old tore his left ACL in Week 17 of the same season, causing a sharp decline in his production in 2021 as he only managed 35 receptions for 445 yards and two touchdowns in nine games.
Despite the fact that the Cowboys kept him on their roster in 2022 also, he helped the team post less yardage last season than in 2021, grabbing only 39 passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns.
Dallas served as the setting for Prescott’s NFL debut, and he still maintains ties to the group. His 11 consecutive completions were a Dallas Cowboys record, and he gained notoriety for shattering Tom Brady’s record for the longest streak of pass attempts without an interception.
