Tyson Fury has not stepped inside the ring for nearly seven months and as a result, fans are left frustrated because they want to see the WBC champion take on the big names in the heavyweight division. After a breakdown in contract negotiations with Oleksandr Usyk and Andy Ruiz, The Gypsy King, and his promoter sent a contract to Anthony Joshua.
However, AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn denied the offer and Fury is left with no opponent to fight. Subsequently, for the last few weeks, Tyson Fury has taken a break from social media and there is no update about his next fight. Therefore during a conversation with Seconds Out, the interviewer asked Derek Chisora who is Fury’s last opponent whether he has any idea about the WBC champion’s next fight.
“No, Tyson is not distancing himself from fans. Tyson is waiting for December. That’s it,” said Derek Chisora while speaking to Seconds Out.
Tyson Fury’s potential opponent for his next fight
There aren’t a lot of options for Tyson Fury to fight next as he has wiped out most of the top heavyweights. The Gypsy King defended his WBC heavyweight title against Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte, and Derek Chisora. The opponent that makes the most sense is Oleksandr Usyk as it is the biggest fight in the heavyweight division.
Moreover, Fury will have the opportunity to become the undisputed champion. Fight fans around the world want to see that matchup also because both the heavyweights are undefeated. Apart from Usyk, Andy Ruiz and WBO interim heavyweight champion Zhilei Zhang are two potential opponents that sound good. Considering The Gypsy King wants to fight in the next two months.
Who will Tyson Fury fight in December?
Tyson Fury wants to fight as soon as possible but with Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk reportedly signing with Skills Challenge, he might have to step inside the ring for the heavyweight tournament in December. If he also chooses to sign with Skills Challenge and compete in Abu Dhabi then there is a high chance that he fights Oleksandr Usyk.
Because rumors are Anthony Joshua will fight Deontay Wilder on one end of the semi-finals. If that’s the case then we could finally see the undisputed heavyweight title clash. As of now, there are no reports of Fury joining the tournament. If somehow all the heavyweights agree to step up to the challenge and fight at the four-man tournament then it will be the biggest PPV of the year.
