It appears that Charlotte Hornets forward Kai Jones has been sharing unusual and controversial posts on social media recently. The Hornets star has been making headlines, but not necessarily for his on-court performances.
The teams decision to sign Miles Bridge who is facing domestic violence allegations has drawn heavy criticism from the media. Meanwhile, Jones has even boldly proclaimed that he could take on LeBron James one-on-one, criticized Michael Jackson, and even called himself the GOAT.
Kai Jones continues to engage in weird social media posting
The Hornets forward is showing no signs of stopping and his unprofessional behavior has caused concerns about his mental health among his fans. Some fans and commentators have also speculated that Jones may be suffering from some kind of mental illness like bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia.
On 16 September, 2023 he tweeted, “I am the GOAT AND CAME HERE TO FLOAT.” This is very weird of Kai Jones as the forward hasn’t had any achievements big enough to even include himself in the GOAT debate. This behaviour is displaying his eccentric and narcissistic personality which the NBA star may have developed lately.
However, another reason for his behaviour could be that Kal-El is just trying to get attention. It is not uncommon on social media platforms for recognized personalities like Kai Jones by posting weird and triggering content to increase engagement with their posts.
If gaining attention is the purpose then it’s working for sure because the digs that he took at LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal seemed to gather a large amount of heat from basketball fans.
Kai Jones takes aim at LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal and Michael Jackson
Kai Jones took a dig at legends of the game like LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal. The young Hornets forward shared controversial statements saying that he could beat LeBron and Shaq in a one on one situation. As one can expect the tweet blew up and had a large amount of engagement.
He even took a dig at a legend who has nothing to do with NBA. Kai Jones compared himself to the legendary popstar Michael Jackson. He tweeted, “I’m bigger than Michael Jackson these days the way l’m feeling man.” Again the tweet had huge engagement and people were speculating that Kal-El might be under influence of drugs.
