Cristiano Ronaldo has recently talked about his rivalry with Lionel Messi, saying that the rivalry is over. The two players have been the face of football for years now the fanbase is divided between them. The rivalry has been going on for over a decade but Cristiano has finally put a stop to it.
Lionel Messi offers his condolences to Morocco
On 8 September 2023, an earthquake hit Morocco that measured 6.8 in magnitude on the Richter scale. Approximately 800 hundred people lost their lives, and 650 more were injured. To aid those in need, Ronaldo has come ahead to provide refugee to the survivors in his Pestana CR7 Hotel in Morocco. “Now we have managed to get Cristiano Ronaldo’s hotel, which is on the outskirts, to give us a room,” said Spanish nationalist Irene Seixas.
Argentine legend Lionel Messi has also talked about the issue. The player offered his prayers and condolences to those who lost a loved one and the people who are struggling during these hard times. “My condolences to all the families of the earthquake victims in Morocco,” he said on his Instagram story. “All the strength to the injured and the people who were affected by the terrible catastrophe,” he added.
Ronaldo indicated the rivalry with Messi is “over”
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have five and seven Ballon d’Ors respectively. The two have been the greatest players in the world for over a decade now. For years, we have seen fans constantly arguing with each other over who is the better player. Ronaldo talked about the issue, saying: “The rivalry between me and Messi was good. Fans loved it. Now that rivalry is over.”
He further told his fans not to give any hate to Messi “If you love Cristiano, you don’t have to hate Messi. We have changed the history of football.”
