When one club is expected to lose a player, the club prepares to replace him. This in turn creates a dynamo effect, with several clubs having to let go of a player and buy another. Sometimes, a club’s transfer target is also disrupted, when another club tries to sign the player.
This is what seems to be happening due to Kylian Mbappe and his insistence to not sign a new contract at Paris Saint Germain. As the Ligue 1 club is now preparing to sign another player, which is disrupting the plans of Manchester United.
The Red Devils were hoping to sign talented and young striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. Manchester United was preparing a bid for the player, but it seems the Danish striker is out of their reach now.
PSG set to hijack Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United
Danish player Rasmus Hojlund is currently the top target of United. The 20-year-old scored 9 times in 20 Seria A appearances last season. Even for Denmark, he has scored six times in just 4 matches. He is seen as having a similar profile to Erling Haaland, and similarly, he is highly sought after by many clubs.
Previously, Atalanta rejected a player swap plus cash deal from United for Rasmus Hojlund. They instead demand a fee of €70 million for the Danish international. United however made a bid of €50m plus €10m in add-ons back on Wednesday. However, the Serie A club is still listening to offers.

According to the Athletic, at this moment, Paris Saint Germain came in with a € 50 million offer. However, even this is set to be rejected as Atalanta values him higher than that. PSG want the player as they are keen to replace Kylian Mbappe who is expected to either leave this summer or for free next summer.
It is unknown which club Hojlund will prefer, with the Seria A player already agreeing to personal terms with United. PSG has yet to speak with the player.
Kylian Mbappe adamant to sign for Real Madrid after rejecting Al Hilal
Paris Saint Germain is desperate to sell Kylian Mbappe as he refuses to sign a new contract at the club. The club believes that the Frenchman has already agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer when his contract runs out. It is believed that he wants to join Madrid for free to gain a big signing bonus.
Previously, president Nasser Al Khelaifi made it clear that he will not let Mbappe leave the club for free. To lose such a big player for free to a European rival would be a catastrophic loss. As such, they have made Mbappe surplus to requirements and allowed bids to come in for the player.
Not just that, but Mbappe is one of few players that PSG have not taken into their Japan pre-season tour. This is believed to force him to make his way out of the French capital.
Recently, Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal made a massive bid to bring in Mbappe. The offer is said to be worth €300 million, which could be the new record signing fee for a player. Moreover, Al Hilal will offer a massive €700 million package to Mbappe just to play for one year. This means that he could earn $1476 per minute there, a truly astounding offer. And, on top of that, after the one-year contract expires, he will be allowed to join Madrid, the club of his dreams.
But Kylian Mbappe has rejected the deal and instead continued on his original plan to join Madrid for free in the summer.
This summer could see the transfer sagas of both Kylian Mbappe and Rasmus Hojland collide.
