Hours after undermining Shawn Michaels, Tony Khan goes after the Undertaker, John Cena in latest rant

WWE and AEW went head to head for the first time when their respective events coincided. To compete with NXT on TBS, AEW Dynamite, which typically airs on Wednesdays, temporarily shifted to Tuesdays. Fans anticipated which promotion would prevail, but Tony Khan’s efforts were unsuccessful.

Following AEW’s defeat to WWE during the NXT and Dynamite showdown on Tuesday, AEW’s Tony Khan took to social media to criticize WWE. After making fun of Shawn Michaels, he has now aimed at John Cena and the Undertaker.

Tony Khan goes after John Cena, Undertaker

Tony Khan addressed AEW’s ratings loss against WWE on Tuesday nights, noting that the appearances of John Cena and The Undertaker on WWE significantly boosted NXT’s viewership, surpassing that of AEW Dynamite. While implying that Cena and The Undertaker alone weren’t responsible for pushing NXT’s viewership above a million, Khan has shifted his focus from HBK and Vince McMahon to Cena and the two legends.

Khan noted on Twitter that until this week’s AEW vs. WWE war, neither John Cena nor The Undertaker has been on a WWE event with less than 1 million viewers and less than 400k in the demo. In essence, he implies that WWE’s decision to feature Cena and The Undertaker on NXT did not provide the desired results and may have harmed the legends’ reputations due to their exposure to an audience of less than one million.

Fans of both AEW and WWE were taken aback by the AEW boss’s immature tweeting. Taking a shot on Cenation Leader and DeadMan, he wrote, “With all due respect, until this week’s head-to-head AEW on TBS vs WWE on USA, neither John Cena nor Undertaker had ever been on a WWE show with under 1 million total viewers + under 400k in the demo.”

AEW want Khan away from social media

On Tuesday, AEW’s Tony Khan boasted about the company’s success by citing a peculiar statistic involving two WWE legends: John Cena and The Undertaker. The wrestling community responded in a wide variety of ways to his tweet.

Khan’s tweet caught some people at AEW off guard, and it showed that he doesn’t check with the company’s public relations department before making social media posts. Many people reacted positively to Khan’s message, while others were less impressed. When it comes to Tony Khan’s social media postings, AEW is not as restrictive as WWE.
