How DeAndre Hopkins to earn extra $3,000,000 annually? exploring Titans WR’s incentive-driven $26 million deal

After being cut by the Arizona Cardinals in a salary cap move at the end of May, the star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins became an eligible free agent again to join a new NFL team. Amid fans’ ongoing speculation about his potential next destination, the WR remained optimistic and was adamant about inking a deal to match his value given his past track record of performance.

Whatever, Hopkins‘ adamance didn’t go in vain and his signing saga came to an end with the Tennessee Titans. He is set to battle for the AFC South franchise after inking a whopping deal to arguably become their most dangerous wideout upon signing.

What is the incentive for DeAndre Hopkins to earn an extra $3,000,000 annually?

According to NFL Media, the Titans signed D-Hop to a two-year, $26 million deal along with incentives worth up to $32 million and it is set to be finalized early in the coming week.

The three-time All-Pro can earn up to $3 million in incentives each season along with the potential to earn up to an additional $1 million in bonuses available based on his total number of receiving touchdowns, receptions, and receiving yards. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network provided a detailed breakdown of the wide receiver’s contract.

“$250,000 for reaching 65 receptions, $500,000 for reaching 75 receptions, $750,000 for reaching 85 receptions, and $1 million for reaching 95 receptions.

$250,000 for reaching 750 receiving yards, $500,000 for reaching 850 receiving yards, $750,000 for reaching 950 receiving yards, and $1 million for reaching 1,050 receiving yards.

$250,000 for reaching four touchdowns, $500,000 for reaching six touchdowns, $750,000 for reaching eight touchdowns, and $1 million for reaching 10 touchdowns,” said the post.

Hence, the veteran star might earn $3M available in incentives each year if he manages to record 95 catches, 1,050 yards as well as 10 touchdowns.

The five-time Pro Bowler took to Twitter to show his love aka convey a jab towards his haters saying, “I always loved having haters and doubters but I appreciate it even more now. Titan up!!”

The 31-year-old missed 15 games in the past two seasons after being plagued by injuries and facing suspensions, albeit he collected 106 catches for 1,289 yards as well as 11 touchdowns, proving how phenomenal he can play while in form.
