Football has become much more popular than it used to be. As the sport got bigger, so did the money involved in it, and as a result, the player’s salary grew too. Many players like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Casemiro who are associated with big clubs get a monthly salary of millions.
The Red Devils’ player Carlos Henrique José Francisco Venâncio Casemiro’s salary is a big one, and it is clear to see the Brazilian is enjoying the financial side of his contract.
Examining Casemiro’s United contract
Casemiro bade farewell to the Los Blancos, a club he spent eleven years at in the summer of 2022. He then moved on to join the Premier League, one of the most physical leagues in the world. He signed a contract worth £60 million with Manchester United that is set to expire in 2027. An additional £10 million worth of add-ons were also included in the deal.
According to Spotrac.com, Casemiro’s current contract pays him a weekly salary of £350,000, making his annual payments come up to £18,200,000. The Brazilian international was paid the same amount during the last season, and if everything goes according to plan, the Red Devils will continue to pay him so much till the end of his contract.
Casemiro reportedly ‘regrets’ joining the Manchester side
Though Casemiro is enjoying a handsome salary at Manchester United and the fans love him, his days at Old Trafford might be numbered. Reports confirm that the 31-year-old regrets his move to the Premier League. An ankle injury sustained during international duty has kept the midfielder on the bench. He was missing from a 2-1 win over Sheffield United and also did not make an appearance on October 25 in Manchester United’s first-ever 2022–23 UEFA Champions League Group Stage match victory.
It is also being said that the Brazilian international might no longer be of Manchester United’s interest, and they might be looking to sign Benfica’s Joao Neves in the next transfer window. Some of the higher-ups, like the allegedly soon-to-be club’s partial owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, think that they made a mistake by signing Casemiro. In contrast, others, like former United coach René Meulensteen, think Casemiro ‘can’t handle’ the style of play Ten Hag is trying to implement.
