How much does Manchester United have to pay to fire Erik Ten Hag with speculations of ex-Real Madrid manager expected to take over?

Manchester United are having a struggling campaign this season under the management of their Dutch boss, Erik Ten Hag. They tried to bounce back with a consecutive streak in the Premier League and Champions League but faced a setback after their defeat in the Derby on Sunday.

Ten Hag’s role at Old Trafford is under threat after a humiliating defeat in “Manchester Derby.” Management’s faith in him is depleting; thus, the English club might consider replacing the former Ajax boss with a former Real Madrid manager.

How much does Manchester United need to pay to sack Erik Ten Hag?

The Red Devils currently reside in 8th place in the Premier League table with 5 wins and as many defeats in 10 games, collecting 15 points so far this season. In the Champions League, they have managed to keep their hopes alive to make it through to the Round of 16 with a recent 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen.

Despite this fact, Manchester United has had its worst start in the Premier League since the 1986 season. Ten Hag’s side was looking confident walking into the most anticipated fixture against the treble-winning city rivals, Manchester City, with three wins in the previous three fixtures in all competitions.

However, the Spanish tactician Pep Guardiola outclassed the Manchester United boss and handed them a 3-0 defeat with a dominating performance at Old Trafford, giving the Red Devils their 7th loss of the season in all competitions.

The recent derby defeat raised questions about Ten Hag’s decision as manager and was even booed by the home fans. The club could decide to sack him; however, the club is required to pay  £15 million in order to part ways as he is contracted until 2025.

Manchester United seeking to bring in Zinedine Zidane

Manchester United’s recent embarrassing home defeat at the hands of city rivals has put immense pressure on the Dutch boss to turn things around at the club. The reports suggest the club may part ways with the manager in order to replace him with former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane.

The English side identified the three-time Champions League-winning manager, Zidane, as the top candidate to take up the managerial job at Old Trafford. He was previously linked with Man United in 2021; however, the Frenchman has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid. Hence, it would be interesting to see if Zidane would join the Premier League if approached.
