The Saudi Pro League is the newly discovered gold mine for football stars. After Cristiano Ronaldo’s sensational move to Al Nassr, which made him the highest-paid athlete in the world, other great European players have also relocated their offices to Saudi Arabia.
Senegalese superstar Sadio Mane recently switched from Bayern Munich to Al Nassr. The 31-year-old attacker earned significantly higher at Bayern Munich than he did at Liverpool, and he now stands to earn even more at Al Nassr.
Sadio Mane’s contract details
Sadio Mane was set to undergo Al Nassr medicals in Dubai on Monday ahead of his move to the club. The deal will see Mane earn a staggering salary of £34 million annually.
The Senegalese forward has played with some outstanding players in his career, he was once a pivot in what is known as one of the best trios Liverpool has ever produced. Sadio Mane is known for his ability to lead a counter-press. He is strong, agile, and skillful, making him a formidable force on the left flank of any team.
At Liverpool, the 31-year-old winger earned £100,000 weekly. This was far from commensurate to the impact he had on the club. Sadio Mane then demanded a raise to £400,000, but his demands were unmet. He departed the club after Bayern Munich signed him.
At Bayern Munich, the 31-year-old winger earned £250,000 weekly, twice as much as he was offered at Liverpool. He spent a year of his career at Bayern Munich, after which he sought a new challenge at Al Nassr, one of the top-flight teams in the Saudi Pro League. Now, Sadio Mane will be paid a staggering wage of £650,000 weekly, adding to £34 million annually.
However, Sadio Mane speaking to Skysports about his Bayern exit, made it clear how much it hurts to leave;
“Leaving FC Bayern hurts me. I would have wished for a different ending. I could have helped the team this season. I wanted to prove it to everyone this season. Nevertheless, I wish the club and the fans the best for the future.”
Al Nasar officially announces the signing of Sadio Mane

After his spell at Bayern Munich didn’t go well, Sadio Mane hopes to be a regular starter again. Mane had to stay out a few games at Bayern due to injury and rancor with his teammate, Leroy Sane.
He traveled on Bayern’s pre-season tour in Asia but was left out of the friendly between Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo. When asked, Bayern made it clear that “Sadio Mane is in contract talks ahead of a possible transfer, and so is not in today’s squad”
Things haven’t gone as expected for Sadio Mane following his injury and involvement in a fight with his teammate. However, things are starting again on a brighter side, as he now earns more than double what he earned as a Bayern player. In addition to this, Sadio now plays alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
