Tom Brady used to be the one who set the fires on the field ablaze. For many reasons, he’s been through a rough patch at this moment on which he dropped clues by making revealing remarks about himself.
Brady has acknowledged that he has a hard time concentrating on his personal life since he spends so much time on the field throughout the season, comparing it to “going away on deployment for the military.”
On this week’s edition of the quarterback’s “Let’s Go” podcast, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star opened up about his problem with work-life balance while speaking with Kevin Durant.
The 45-year-old said that, despite his best efforts, he always ends himself immersed in his profession during the football season, despite his desire to focus on other elements of his life.
Brady stated, “I almost look at like a football season like you’re going away on deployment for the military,”. He went on “And it’s like, ‘Man, here I go again.”
Brady added more, “The reality is,” he continued, “is you can really only be authentic to yourself. Right? Whatever you may say ‘Ah, man, I want to, you know, make sure I spend a little more time doing this during the season”.
The statements seem to provide further context for the difficulties Brady is facing in his marriage life with Gisele Bünchden. She had always pushed for him to devote more time to the family and less to football. But it’s evident that he’s having a lot of trouble with it; he says so himself.
