“I don’t believe that” – Stephen A. Smith Slams LeBron for Bronny James’ Performance

Stephen A. Smith didn’t hold back when criticizing LeBron James over Bronny’s struggles with the South Bay Lakers. Despite all the hype since Bronny James’ draft, the young star has had a tough season, facing criticism at every turn.

Even in the G-League, he couldn’t shine as expected. Stephen A. publicly accused LeBron of forcing Bronny into the draft before he was fully prepared.

The Los Angeles Lakers picked Bronny James with the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Since being drafted, he hasn’t been able to put his stamp on the game. LeBron and the Lakers’ staff are hopeful that Bronny will get better over time, but the young star continues to suffer problems.

Recently, Stephen A. Smith said that LeBron was to blame for Bronny’s problems because his father pushed him into the NBA too soon. He suggested LeBron stop using social media to keep his son safe from the criticism.

He said, “Not to be redundant, but I think it’s necessary to be that way, Bronny James doesn’t belong in the NBA. Not yet. Some people say never. I don’t believe that. I think the kid has a chance but he’s not ready yet….respectfully this is all LeBron James’ fault!”

James Jr currently splits his time between the NBA and the G-League. He’s shooting just 16.7% and averaging 0.7 points per game. The Lakers rookie has a lot of work ahead of him to succeed in the NBA.

Bronny James limited to home games in NBA G league

Lakers rookie Bronny James started his NBA G League journey strong, scoring six points, grabbing three rebounds, making four assists, and earning two steals in his debut. However, his performance dipped in the following games, leaving fans disappointed.

It’s clear he’s not ready for the pro league yet, so the team decided to keep him playing only in G League matches for now. According to @ShamsCharania, “For now, sources said, the G League plan is for Bronny James to play in only South Bay home games – as he shuttles between both leagues and team manages his time on respective rosters.”
