Raul Rosas Jr is an eighteen-year-old prodigy who has already taken the bantamweight division by storm after submitting Jay Perrin in his UFC debut back at UFC 282. However, what’s surprising is El Nino Problema has received a golden opportunity to kick off the main card of UFC 287.

The Mexican bantamweight will collide against Christian Rodriguez in a three-round bout to open the main show in front of a sold-out Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida. It is a great leap from Rosas Jr who has jumped from prelims to the main card after just one fight.
However, several critics have lashed out after hearing this move by the UFC and have shunned the promotion for giving the youngster the opportunity on the main card over other experienced fighters.
Middleweight contender Chris Curtis is one of the guys who has criticized the rising bantamweight as he believes his matchup against Kelvin Gastelum should be featured on the main card. Following this uproar, Raul Rosas Jr has given a brutal response to the critics during the UFC 287 media interview.
“I don’t know who said that, but at the end of the day, they’re all just hating and they should take some notes if they want to be on the pay-per-view card. They should take some notes and learn some stuff from me. I got in the UFC and I’m already on the pay-per-view, not like other ranked fighters that are prelim fighters. I don’t want to say names.”
Raul Rosas Jr claims that he will outclass Christian Rodriguez at UFC 287
After winning his first fight in the UFC, Raul Rosas Jr expressed his desire to become the youngest-ever UFC champion. However, the Mexican fighter has a lot to do in a stacked bantamweight division in order to break Jon Jones‘ record. El Nino Problema has his hands full as he takes on a tough bantamweight in the form of Cristian Rodriguez.
Although Rosas Jr isn’t worried about the challenge that Rodriguez will pose at UFC 287 as he is extremely confident in his skills. He believes that this is the perfect opportunity to showcase his skills to the world.
During the UFC 287 media interview, Raul Rosas Jr said that “I can show that I’m levels above these prospects and I’m ready to fight in the top 15.”
With less than a day left for UFC 287 to kick off, it would be fascinating to see how Raul Rosas performs on his main card debut. Do let us know in the comments section below your thoughts about this UFC 287 bantamweight showdown.
