The 2022–2023 season’s NFL Pro Bowl had produced lots of entertaining and noteworthy moments, but the Buffalo Bills’ wide receiver Stefon Diggs kneeling behind the cheerleaders wasn’t among them.
Sunday night’s Pro Bowl featured 88 players from both conferences, and the Bills had eight, including star quarterback Josh Allen, who didn’t participate due to a fitness issue. However, the star WR didn’t miss the chance to snatch the spotlight by attempting a slick move.
The Bills WR wanted to do something iconic during the pregame catch competition, but it turned out to be a cheap and weird gesture. Stefon took a knee behind a gathering of cheerleaders and wore an eye mask to look cool.
What did Stefon Diggs have to say regarding his action?
His crouching behind a group of cheerleaders didn’t produce anything the fans wanted; rather, it sparked a backlash on social media. His stunt clip went viral on Twitter, and the 29-year-old WR became a laughing stock among fans.
Later, Diggs revealed his intention behind the creepy crouching moves towards the cheerleaders. “I had to fix my mask I promise 😩 I would never do such a thing 😂 yaw finna get me in trouble,” Diggs elucidated. However, it seems to me that he enjoyed watching the clip on Twitter.

Stefon’s antics evolved into a troll after he failed to catch two balls through the smoke while fleeing the cheerleaders and jumped on a trampoline. He tried several times again, but nothing changed.
However, Stefon was quite decent in the competitive games for the Bills. He scored 11 touchdowns and accumulated 1429 yards with 13.2 yards per reception, which propelled him to get the honor of participating in the Pro Bowl this year.
This was Diggs’ third appearance in the event for the Bills; previously in 2020, the WR received the NFL receptions leader and receiving yards leader medals.
