The former WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre had finally made his anticipated comeback at Money in the Bank 2023. The Scottish Warrior confronted the Ring General Gunther after he defeated Riddle in a Championship match.
The return of McIntyre was something the WWE Universe is waiting for a long time, especially after rumors of WWE Contract expiry. However, Triple H made it clear that there is no such issue between McIntyre & the company.
Drew McIntyre’s confession on the long WWE break
Recently, the former Royal Rumble winner made his appearance on WWE Bump’s latest episode, where he confessed his long break from the Stamford-based promotion and also apologize to the WWE Universe for his absence.
McIntyre stated that “I just want to apologize to everybody — that I missed my dates, I missed the towns. You know it’s not like me unless there’s a reason. Obviously, rumor and innuendo are out there. What’s going on with Drew McIntyre? What’s going on with the future? The future doesn’t matter. What matters is the present, and presently Drew McIntyre is back.”
Further on, McIntyre also addressed how he has the opportunity to finally win a Championship in front of a live audience. He added that ” And finally, finally, finally I’m chasing that big moment with a title in front of live fans. So let’s make that happen finally.“
So it seems like, McIntyre is also somewhere to agree with the ongoing rumors but now the present situation is that the former Champion is again back in the company.
Is Drew McIntyre and Gunther feud next in WWE?
The Scottish Warrior had made his return by confronting the Intercontinental Champion at MITB 2023, which clears his intention ahead of his comeback. Mcintyre also confronted The Imperium after they attacks Riddle on Monday Night Raw after his victory.
WWE Summerslam 2023 is the upcoming premium live event of the company and it is highly likely that Drew McIntyre will lock horns against The Ring General for his Intercontinental Championship. Gunther has proven himself as a dominating champion in the company as far right now. He also pinned McIntyre at WrestleMania 39 to retain his championship in a triple-threat match.
The collision between these two seems to be an opportunity for McIntyre to take revenge against Gunther for his loss. Also, in case, if McIntyre wins the title he will finally get his moment in front of the live audience at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
